Ward of the Briar

Carved as a boundary and assembled as a vigil, Ward of the Briar is a one of one mink skull wall reliquary created to hold protection, grounding, and watchfulness.

An ethically sourced mink skull is carved with a protection rune along the bridge of the nose and set with preserved moss within the cranial cavity. The moss is softly illuminated by warm fairy lights, casting a low forest glow through the skull. At the base of the skull rests a raw amethyst cluster, anchoring the piece with grounding and warding energy while balancing the protective intent of the carving.

The skull is mounted on a natural cedar round and layered with preserved botanicals, lichen, moss, and stone. Each element was selected for its relationship to resilience, boundary keeping, and quiet guardianship.

This work exists once. It is not replicated.

Designed for wall mounting, Ward of the Briar serves as a guardian presence suited for thresholds, liminal spaces, studios, and places of personal ritual.
